If you follow me for long, you'll quickly find out my X strategy is to create high quality content and let the rest work itself out.
I take issue with people who put all the emphasis on being a reply guy because it teaches people their content doesn't matter.
That's why I want to share an example I came across this week that perfectly demonstrates the power of compelling content.
X user @joonahw made his first X post on February 15 and within 3 days had already crossed 1,000 followers.
What's the secret to his success? He explained it in this post:
Joonah didn’t use some crazy new growth strategy or send 1,000 replies every day. He simply shared his life story with real examples to back it up.
For example, in one post he talks about dropping out of law school to start a YouTube channel—before making a single video. And in another he shares what it felt like to make his first $1.50 online.
People followed Joonah because he has credibility and real experiences that make his YouTube success seem attainable for anyone.
As you scroll through his profile, you can't help but read more and more posts. That's the exact feeling you want someone to have when they land on your profile.
The secret to growing on X is not being a reply guy or posting at the perfect time. It’s being a good storyteller.
Or as Joonah put it in the first post: “Just build something cool and people will care.”
Thanks for tuning in,
Jacob
